For fourteen years, John Kapellas has lived in almost complete darkness due to a rare medical condition. When a medicine his doctor prescribes incites an unending series of traumatic flashbacks, a new darkness descends and John turns to circles to save his life.

“John Who Lives in the Dark” is a feature length documentary film currently in development. The film was awarded a Catapult Film Fund Development Grant in 2021.
